THE STORY SO FAR
We Use Steam Pressure To Turn A Turbine Which Creates Electricity
Achieving temperatures above 600o C and pressures between 600-700 bar requires a significant amount of energy. The energy sources that can generate such high temperatures and pressures include nuclear fission, fusion (when initiated), coal, gas, and oil. Among these sources, fossil fuels are advantageous because they are portable and have a high energy density, which allows them to produce steam by burning water at high temperatures.
YES
THE ANSWER IS
WE CAN!!
What If We Could Achieve The Same Without Using Steam Or High Temp?
THE STORY THATS AWAITS
Why We Love
Carbon Dioxide?
Carbon Dioxide has a greater molecular mass than water 44 compared to 18 (2.5 heavier). Carbon Dioxide increases in temperature for a lower given amount of input energy than water. Its Specific Heat Capacity is 0.8KJ/Kg/K compared to liquid water at 4.2KJ/Kg/K and Steam which is 2.0KJ/Kg/K. It is in gaseous form at a much lower temperature than water for a lower energy input. It creates pressure to power a turbine at -78oC
